Learning Objectives

After completing this program, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the mechanism of action and the conceptual basis for therapeutic BoNTs in a broad array of clinical conditions
  • Increase their knowledge of the spectrum of treatments and interventions for these disorders and understand where BoNTs fit into the treatment regimen
  • Identify appropriate patients for therapy and determine condition-specific techniques, including injection-site-specific selection and dosing of BoNT
  • Understand key considerations involved in establishing treatment plans, including diagnosis and baseline assessment of the patient, recognition of specific symptoms and co-morbidities, and establishment of appropriate expectations for treatment outcomes
  • Discuss procedures for administering BoNT therapy
  • Recognize the importance of post-injection follow-up and outcomes assessment
